About Gardiner Excavating
Joey Gardiner began his career at sixteen in high-end residential landscape construction in Southern Ontario, Canada. He later relocated to Edmonton, where he advanced into foreman roles on large-scale earthworks, commercial developments, and civil underground water and sewer projects.
His experience includes extensive work on high-rise and condominium developments, specializing in underground parkades and deep utility installations. Joey’s expertise extends beyond bulk excavation and backfill. His precision excavation skills produced clean, earth-formed building pads and detailed frost footings in clay soils, eliminating the need for concrete formwork.
Following underground completion, Joey led and executed over 1,000,000 square feet of flatwork and slab-on-grade under slab preparation, including parking lot subgrade work. These projects demanded exact tolerances, disciplined execution, and a strong understanding of long-term performance.
Grateful for the years of strong relationships, hands-on leadership, and the experience gained from excavating hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of material, Joey and his family made the decision in 2021 to relocate closer to family in Southeast Idaho.
Today, Gardiner Excavating LLC brings that same level of precision, discipline, and integrity to every project—raising the standard in groundwork from first cut to final grade.
